PROPOSAL TO REQUEST FOR FUNDING TO ORGANISE A SCRIPT ACTING COMPETITION FOR ENGLISH IN REAL ACTION ACTIVITY

1. INTRODUCTION

We are a group of first-year Ngee Ann Polytechnic students. The purpose of this paper is to seek approval and funding to organize a script acting competition among the 2008 International School students in the activity “English in Real Action”.

2. OBJECTIVES OF OUTING

The objectives of this competition are as follows:

1) To organize a unique, fun and meaningful activity to improve students’ English capacity, such as communication and their pronunciation, glossary and develop their interests in reading and writing.
2) To let the students know more about English, the typical English saying, the perfect English pronunciation and speaking habit from reading original English scripts reading.
3) To develop their passion in English study and make them enjoy reading in English.

3. PROPOSED DATES

We plan to invite six to ten groups to read our chosen scripts, and them use their own understanding and analysis to act out the play. There are four invited teachers to be the judges, to judge their pronunciation, fluency, how well they handle the whole emotion or spirit of the scripts and their acting effects. Each category will give 5 marks and total 20 marks. The date is decided during May, but the absolute date is still under discussing.

4. BUDGET REQUIRED

The prize will be given to the first three groups: 100 yuan RMB for the first place, 60 yuan RMB for the second place, and 40 yuan RMB for the third place. So total up we will need 200 yuan RMB.

5. CONCLUSION

We believe our topic is not only a competition or just an interesting game, but also a educational project. Students who participate in our activity will have a great time. They will fall in love with reading and writing!

I cut my hair

Last saturday I cut my hair to change my

life. Something happened to me made me hate some people around me. I didn't want to do like this, because I was so love them before them cheated me.

I always think therewas kind people more than bad one and everyone should live in love. But I found as if I was wrong something.

Before this thing happened I was a happy girl althoungh I had a hard life.But now my hart was empty. There was a big hole in my hart, I don't know when it can be better.

Tell a story

Today, On our oral class, everyone told a story about themselves!

My story is an moving tale. The story want to tell you that

although you did something wrong or made big mistakes when you were young ,

parent would always stay with you.

I think my story has a clear purpose and is well-organized,

the words used are simple yet specific.

But I felt I'm not very confident and enthusiastic. And the volume must be higher.

I think Linda and Co Co has done a very good job at this area.

They are very confident and relax.

I'll imporve myslfe more-Don't be shy, to be more confident.

About our plans

Now we have several plans about how to hold/conduct activities on our chosen topic! So could you give some suggestions on our introduction of our activity plans~~
Our topic is " Reading& Writing", we think we are very lucky to have this topic and we want to try our best to hold an excellent activity according to this topic!!
The main purpose of this topic is to explore and inspire people's interest in reading and writing.
So we decided to basicly two main activities' plans, and another two for standby.
The first one is the Reciting Competition, we will invite those students who have interest in our plan to choose their favourite poem or article to prepare for the competition.
They must use their understanding to perform the feelings of the author, they also must be familiar enough with the material.
We will also invite some teachers to be the judges, the judges should consider the pronunciation and level of the understanding of the materials.
In this way, students can find some new advantages for reading books and the interests in reading!
The second one is the Script Creator, we want to invite some groups or individuals who want to creat their own scipts and collect the creation together to do a judgement. Among those scripts, we will vote in a best one, and then ask some students to act out!
We suppose in this way, students will have higher passion in writing what they like!

Yesterday I was very sad, I called my friends and but as if they all sleeped.

Always I think I am a strong girl. The fact is not real.

My roommates were talking highly, no one noted my bad mood.

I wanted to climb hills and sing loudly. Singing out all my bad feelings.

Now I am like a hurt bird and I do not have any vitality.

And the moring I haven't any food, I hate now myself.

This blog is too hard to find. It is already confused for me.
It like a shy a girl who the first detes her boyfriend.
Today my bedroom meters all go out , I am alone in it.
The time as if so long when a one person like now my feeling.
Thus I get into computer room to wacth moves.
